I work with Fellowes shredders so I can't tell you about the automode but to get out the jam you can try this: Remove as much paper as you can with a needlenose pliers or something with a good grip from both the top and bottom of the shredder than saturate any paper left in the machine with a vegetable based oil only do not use any petroleum based oil (may cause fire) Let that soak for up to 8 hours this should soften up the paper enough to let you power thru the jam as soon as you get power.
