When you're using Storyline 2, you should only be notified about a new Storyline 2 update if you're using an older update of Storyline 2, so I'm guessing that was the case for you. For example, if you're using Storyline 2 Update 10 or older, you would see an update to get Storyline 2 Update 11, which would bring you to the (where you can also download Storyline 3, so I'm assuming that's what you saw?).
